WEEKEND DIY

A little DIY project I did this weekend to decorate my dinner table. Since the heat is up, flowers don't last too long in my apartment, so I decided to experiment and stumbled upon this super cool DIY home decor. It is an easy, cheap and the most important beautiful decor for your home. At the same time I had a lot of fun doing it as well. You just need a few things to make this table decor: some brunches as well as clay- you can get the clay at your local hobby shop. I got mine in Søstrene Grene- both silk clay and foam clay.

        

When you get the materials you just start rolling and do your magic. I made a mix between white silk clay and silver foam clay. I think it turned out to be beautiful. However, you can as well experiment with some brighter colours, of course. I have seen some beautiful DIY projects with pink clay as well.

Voila...

Weekend DIY Christmas Cookies Jar

Christmas season always puts me in a creative mood and this weekend I have been very productive, not only decorating my little apartment but also try to do something extra.

Todays DIY PROJECT is a jar for cookies with Christmas motives, that you can also use to store candies and other sweets during the Christmas season. It is great because it does not require the purchase of a lot of additional materials but  what you have at disposal.

     

Here is what you will need:

 - an empty glass jar (you can buy one, or reuse one, as I did)

 - stickers with Christmas motives (you can get that at any hobby shop for example-søstrene grene)

 - Christmas ribbon, I have chosen two different ones (you can buy them at søstrene grene)

You must clean  the jar well and remove the sticker that was originally put, if you are re-using one. Then you must measure the christmas sticker according to how wide the jar is and stick it carefully. Be careful, with leaving air between the sticker and the jar because you will end up having balloons of air and it would not look as pretty. When you are finished with that, the last thing you need to do is choose a ribbon and put a bow on the jar.

DIY blink blink earrings

I had the instant urge on Friday to make myself a pair of earrings that are delicate but still catchy. Since I love the combination of the dragon vein beads with czech crystal beads, I decided to experiment with these two types of beads. You can use anything you want, also in terms of sizes. I think that 10 mm is great- not too small and not too big, so I recommend it. I think that a smaller size might be lost, and too small, if you use smaller size of beads.

    What do you need?

• Round pliers
• Cutting pliers
• 2 beads of your choice (10 mm)
• 2 crystal beads (10 mm)
• 2 silver hooks 
• 2 silver head pins (I used 70 mm but 40-50 can do it for you for sure :))

First, you should place the beads on the head pin and  cut it by leaving around 1 mm of the pin that we will use later to make the eye for the pin. Use the round pliers to make the eye by slowly twisting the pin until you get a round eye, place the hook and VOILA, you have your perfect blink-blink earrings for Friday night.

DIY Hairband

I love hairdbands but since I have had a bang for the past year or so I have not really had the opportunity to wear one. Now... my hair have grown a little so I think this time is perfect to make one.

What you need is:

-Satin band

-Scissors

-Simple beads (I chose round beads)

-Niddle

-Lighter 

Try and  combine the beads in different shapes, I did not really put many beads on but you can play with it. :) Here is my result, very simple... What do you think?

Weekend DIY Inspiration

I hope you, guys, are enjoying the lovely weekend. The weather here has not been really the best but I am trying to get as much as I can. 

Since I am searching for my perfect summer clutch, I have been looking through the net, trying to find something that I like in the normal price range. Well... it has been quite hard, I think so far. What I found though was a super inspiring DIY project from Style Scrapbook. 

Her yellow clutch DIY is so amazing that instead of buying one, I have decided to try and make one myself. It's a truly amazing  DIY PROJECT and I am hoping to be able to find the right materials soon, I will eighter  try and find the yellow colour that Andy from Style Scrapbook used or may be the dark blue I am so crazy about.

DIY Shamballa bracelet

Hello girls!!!

Hope you are enjoying your week :)

For a long time now I have wanted to try this DIY project and make my own shamballa bracelet but I never get the time because there is always something coming along that is more important or urgent to do. This week I told myself that 'I will finally try it!'

It is actually very easy to do it, you can try yourself. You need just a few things: 

- Scissors

- I used very thin leather cord-1 mm (you can also use waxed thread)

- Beads depending on what you want (make sure you choose bead with a hole of at least 1 mm, I made the mistake not to consider that :D)

- You need some tape 

- Some glue

Everything else you need to know you will hear from Jessica and her online tutorial on how to make a shamballa bracelet HERE. I think her instruction video is very helpful and I recommend it.

Guest post-DIY Huge Necklace

Dear Fashion Memos' readers! 

Do you like the new trend  - HUGE NECKLACES? 

If yes, I have a cheaper and more creative option for you to get it. Here is for example this lovely piece by ZARA. 

All you need is a few 'ingredients': 

- beads

- yarn

- metal chain

- pliers

- needle and thread 

- fasteners 

You can go different ways about it, I started to add the pink beads first. Than I fastened the chains together with yarn. Once they were together I added the small yellow and blue beads to it.

Once the major part was done, I have added the chains and the clasp to the necklace. The bracelet was done to the same logic, but it is much easier and smaller:). I fastened the chains together and than added the beads.

I believe it is a perfect combination for both casual and smart wear. You can combine it with all the colours you add to it, so it makes a very fresh and stylish look! Or you can combine it with a black evening dress or a top and you will look smart and dressy!

This way you can do it for the the quarter of the price and combine the colours which you prefer:)!

Hottest Pantone Colors Spring 2014

Hello Fashion Memos readers,

Happy Saturday! Enjoying the day? I hope you are. Here, in Barcelona, the weather has been lovely most of the day, still 20 degrees or approximately, isn't that great?:)

The last days I have been trying to shop for some materials for different DIYs, mostly jewels and I have been thinking about the top colors in 2014 in order to try and match that. I found a list of colors that are supposed to be the hottest for spring 2014 and I am dying to share them with you and hear what you think. Personally, I don't seem to have found some of the colors in the shops but I guess the spring collections have not been released, yet, by all designers

Anyways, I would love to hear from you what you think about all those colors and which ones are your favorite:)

Хубава събота! Надявам се, че се наслаждавате на този прекрасен съботен ден. Тук, в Барселона, времето беше страхотно, по-голямата част от деня, все още е 20 градуса или приблизително  (не е ли супер :)?)

Последните дни се опитвам да пазаря материали за различни DIYs, предимно бижута и се позачудих какви са топ цветове за пролет 2014 г., и искам да споделя с вас какво намерих.

Намерих списък от цветове, които се очаква да бъде най-горещите за пролетта на 2014 г. и искам да чуя вашето мнение и мислите по темата. Лично аз, не открих някои от цветовете в магазините, но предполагам, пролетните колекции не са изложени още от всички дизайнери.

Както и да е, бих искал да чуя от вас какво мислите за всички тези цветове и кои са любимите ви :)? Идеи?

Saturday DIY and something extra

Hello guys,

I have prepared a small DIY project for you. It is very fast and I can assure you that you will enjoy the end result.

Materials you need:
- Metal wire
- Perls (I used different colors and different sizes, and that was a little bit of a mistake. I think you should choose just two colors that fits together and the same sizes. It will be easier to rotate them when you do it and it will look also nicer)
-Toggle set
-Round nose pliers

I bought those perls in the local hobby shop, but it turned out that everything there is quite pricey. It is actually crazy because even the simplest beads are very expensive. Where do you buy your materials for all the DIYs from? Any hints?

Приготвила съм ви малък "направи си сам" проект, който е много бърз и мога да ви уверя, че ще се насладите на крайния резултат.

Материали:
- Метална тел
- Перли (аз използвах различни цветове и различни размери, и това беше грешка, мисля, че вие трябва да изберете само два цвята, които си отиват и еднакви размери, ще бъде по-лесно)
-Закопчалкa
-Кръгли клещи

Купих тези перли в местния магазин за хоби, но се оказа че всичко там е доста скъпо. Всъщност дори най-обикновените мъниста са много скъпи. Къде си купувате материалите за тези проекти? Предложения?
